“Men may tend to open up less than women in terms of expressing their true inner world experiences and how they feel emotionally, and so the quality of their relationships may feel more superficial than [those of] women,” he says. “So the friendships they have may not feel as meaningful or last as long, and they may feel lonely even when they have friendships, as they do not give themselves the chance to be fully empathised with by not sharing as much of their inner world with others.”
