Relationships are hard work, and all of us will experience difficulties in our relationships at some point. Psychological therapy, for one or both parties, or for a whole family, can help by providing a space to think through the issues involved, to learn techniques that might help, and to work on improving communication.
When there is a problem in a relationship or family we naturally tend to ask whose fault it is. This is not usually a helpful approach to solving problems, and therapy for relationship difficulties avoids placing blame for them. The exception to this is in cases of abuse: if you are in an abusive relationship, therapy can help you to address the situation, and probably to leave.
